URL: http://www.globe.gov/fsl/welcome.html
Abstract: Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment (GLOBE) is a hands-on international environmental science and education program. GLOBE links students, teachers, and the scientific research community in an effort to learn more about our environment through student data collection and observation. The website allows students to submit and peruse data in the fields of atmosphere, hydrology, soils, and land cover/phenology. It includes a mapping/graphing area, a teacher's guide, and an educator's forum. GLOBE is a cooperative effort of schools, led in the United States by a Federal interagency program sponsored by NOAA, NASA, NSF, and EPA, in partnership with over 140 colleges and universities, state and local school systems, and non-government organizations.
