Abstract: This Classroom Connectors lesson plan dicusses the role of predators in ecosystems. Students learn the terms prey and predator, define the relationship between these two, discuss the effects of a lack of predators in an environment, define scavenger and separate the role of scavenger from that of predator. The site provides goals, objectives, an outline, time required, materials, activities, and closure ideas for the lesson. The Classroom Connectors address content with an activity approach while incorporating themes necessary to raise the activity to a higher cognition level. The major motivation is to employ instructional strategies that bring the students physically and mentally into touch with the science they are studying.
